als je met handshake de aansturing van de poort bedoeld dan zou ik me daar 
geen zorgen over maken. dat regelt het OS/omgeving wel. Ik heb geen ervaring 
met VB (wil ik ook niet ;) ) maar is het niet gewoon mogelijk com1 te openen? 
Vervolgens kan je gewoon lezen en schrijven. 
 
iets als bla.OpenFile ("com1", bla..? 
 
anders is het misschien mogelijk vanuit VB een systeem/C functie aan te 
roepen? Dan kan je CreateFile (of een wrapper functie) aanroepen om het werk 
te doen.

Ja, ja, vooral die paar extra instellingen ;-) Als je ons die nu eens 
verklapt in de vorm van een stukje C code of zo ? 
 
Ik heb me hier ook al maanden lam naar gezocht. Kijk, voor Linux is dat 
allemaal vrij beschikbaar en redelijk gedocumenteerd, maar de 
leveranciers van voor Windows geschreven en voor veel centjes verkochte 
compilers doen m.i. hun uiterste best om toch vooral NIET te vertellen 
hoe je iets banaals als een com-poort aanstuurt. 
 
Toevallig liep ik deze week tegen een website aan waar ik misschen iets 
aan heb (en julie dus misschien ook): http://www.tetraedre.com 
 
Ik heb 'm nog niet uit.

In VB was er altijd al standaard een component meegeleverd voor communicatie 
met commpoort. In Delphi is dit niet standaard meegeleverd. Echter voor 
Delphi zijn er op het internet best goede freeware componenten voor te 
vinden.

Om 'raad' is een groot woord, maar vragen kan altijd...... Ik ben 
redelijk thuis in VB, maar ook geen wereldexpert. Mijn eigen (VB) 
testprogrammaatje draait goed; als ik het goed genoeg vind, dan wil 
ik het t.z.t. wel (inclusief source) plaatsen op DinamoUsers.
