Loss of power across double slip
Hi Dinamousers
This is my first post on this (or indeed any!) forum, so please accept my apologies if I have sent it to the wrong place.
Is there anyone who can tell me if I am able to re-wire the turnouts shown in the attached drawing to overcome the problem described below?
My problem is that I lose power to the double slip and standard turnout connected on Track 3 when a route from Track 2 to Track 3 (or reverse) through the double slip (3.6.2) (route B/C) and adjacent turnout (3.1.0) (straight) is selected. All other routes through these turnouts and all other turnouts work perfectly.
I am using Dinamo RMU with TM44s (x5) for power, block and section management; OC32s (x2) for turnout control; and iTrain 5 for train management.
Each of the double slips is controlled through a double pole relay (Dinasys DR4), wired as indicated in the Dinamo Plug and Play manual.
The standard turnout on Track 3 is also powered through the relay board (for the reason indicated below).
I am not sure if the problem is my wiring of the Dinamo modules or my configuration of the iTrain software. Alternatively the physical configuration may simply not be acceptable.
I accept that the standard turnout on Track 3 should not ideally be located beside the double slip and also that this turnout is the “wrong way round” for the end of a block. I had hoped that by isolating both turnouts completely I could derive power through appropriately wired relays, but I have been unable to achieve this.
Thank you for your help.
