Dinamo

Explanation abbreviations

Netherlands

Hello Dinamo specialist,

As Newbie it can be quite hard to learn about the Dinamo system. One of the reasons is, that all the components all the time are only referenced with some codes RM-U, TM-h, CD16, OM32, etc. Where do these abbreviations stand for? I've searched already through the different pages. Also started reading the different manuals, but still the abbreviations dit not get any meaning for me. If there is one, could they be exaplained somewhere here on the user wiki?

Thanks, Tjeerd

Hi Tjeerd,

RM stands for "Railway Manager", it's the central unit. The -U stands for USB version
TM stands for "Track Module". It delvers power to your tracks. The -H stand for Hybrid, which means you can run analog and digital trains
CD means Current Detector. There are 16 of those on one board
OM means Output Module, with 32 outputs
PM means Pulse Module, for 64 devices. The name is PM32, that's historical ;-)
IPM means Integrated Power Module, to supply the correct voltages for your Dinamo electronics

Kind regards,
Leon
